Swellendam

In addition to being the third oldest South African town – after Cape Town and Stellenbosch – Swellendam is also one of the country’s largest agricultural producing areas. Located right next to the N2 highway, tons of grain, canola oil, meat and dairy are produced and stored here each year. Citrus, berries, persimmons, wool and wine are also exported all over the world. The area is botanically diverse with an abundance of wild flowers and fynbos.
