Klaarstroom is Afrikaans for “clear stream”. Historically, the name probably refers to the clear waters flowing from the Swartberg into the lowlands. Time stands still in this working farm village, and visitors can marvel at the many beautifully restored Victorian buildings in town. Positioned at the northern end of Meiringspoort at the foot of the Swartberg Mountains makes it an ideal hiking and biking destination.
