One of the highlights in Bredasdorp is South Africa’s only shipwreck museum. Here you will travel back in time and learn about the tragic, but sometimes romantic, history of the 150 ships that sank along the rocky coastline of Cape Agulhas (L’Agulhas). Famous ships like the ‘Arniston’, ‘Birkenhead’ and ‘Queen of the Thames’ sank in the waters near L’Agulhas, and is aptly referred to as the “Graveyard of Ships”.
